About Me

Hola, and welcome. I’m Dr. Julia C. Taylor (Ramirez).

LinkedIn

I was born and raised in Colombia, where community, empathy, and curiosity shaped my earliest understanding of health and humanity. Those values guided me into medicine, and they continue to guide me today as I build my life and career in Mobile, Alabama.

I earned my medical degree from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), followed by a Ph.D. in Aviation Medicine, where my research explored the environmental and physiological effects of flight on Colombian pilots. I later completed a Master’s in Public Health Management at Rosario University, deepening my understanding of population health, wellness, and healthcare systems.

After relocating to the United States, I pursued an MBA to strengthen my ability to contribute to healthcare not only clinically, but administratively through leadership, strategy, patient experience, and organizational improvement. This journey has given me a global, interdisciplinary perspective on medicine and the healthcare challenges communities face.

I am passionate about improving access to care, supporting diverse patient populations, promoting public health education, and bringing cultural understanding into clinical and administrative spaces. Bilingual in Spanish and English, I am committed to advocating for patients whose voices are often overlooked.

This blog is where my personal reflections meet my professional experience a space to write about medicine, resilience, wellness, culture, and the human side of healthcare.

Thank you for being here. I’m excited to continue learning, serving, and contributing to the community I now call home.
